Generate knowledge • Disseminate • Innovate
The Postgraduate Program in Clinical Endocrinology at the Escola Paulista de Medicina, Universidade Federal de São Paulo was established in 1975. Initially, all the activities were aimed at medical professionals and from 1998 onwards they were extended to non-medical professionals, closing a major gap in the field. The objectives of the Program are to train personnel qualifying them to carry out teaching and research activities, to perform high-quality professional practices and to produce knowledge in the different areas of endocrinology.
Over the years, more than 300 master’s and PhD students have graduated from the Program that is comprised of different lines of research developed in diabetes, obesity, thyroid, neuroendocrinology, metabolic bone diseases, adrenal glands and the gonads. Research facilities count on a comprehensive infrastructure with well-equipped labs, sub-specialty outpatient clinics and an infirmary.
Currently, the faculty consists of 25 highly qualified researchers.
