The selection process for new students takes place twice a year (in February and August).
The announcement of the opening of applications for interested candidates is widely disseminated through available media during the months of December and January. In February, the selection is conducted by a panel previously constituted and approved in a meeting of the Graduate Program Committee (CPG). This selection process consists of an interview, curriculum analysis, and a test of scientific text interpretation in English.
The curriculum analysis evaluates the candidate's scientific activities, such as participation in scientific events, having been an undergraduate Research Initiation student, having publications in scientific journals, and presenting work at national and international conferences. Based on this, candidates are ranked by merit, and the list of approved candidates is published. This same ranking is used as a criterion for the allocation of scholarships as they become available.
